In new F18,if you want to differentiate the attendance status between device and CX1, you need to activate Anti-passback function.

The operate steps is shown like below:-

Please enter Menu > Access Control > Anti-passback Setup > Anti-passback Direction, and select ‘Null and Save’. Then select Device Status as ‘Out’.
